Yoga for Paddlers Series: Join yoga instructor and surfski paddler Denise Weeks for this 6-class series to help you increase mobility and stability on and off the water. 

Yoga is an integrated practice involving the body, mind, and breath. 
  • Like a weight workout, it gives you strength. 
  • Like meditation, it quiets you down. 
  • Like paddling, it takes you places with joy and wonder.  
Core, Hips, Shoulders
This class is set up to work on the three zones in the body where paddlers sometimes run into “issues": core, hips, and shoulders. We’ll devote one class to poses that increase mobility, and the next class to poses that increase stability. Each class will also include some relaxation and breathing techniques to help you rest up and get ready for your next adventure on the water.

Live via Zoom or Recorded
You can take the classes live, via Zoom, with other celebrity paddlers in our community, or watch the recorded classes at your convenience. 

Here’s what each class will focus on: 
  • Class #1: Core Mobility
  • Class #2: Core Stability
  • Class #3: Hip Mobility
  • Class #4: Hip Stability
  • Class #5: Shoulder Mobility
  • Class #6: Shoulder Stability
Prerequisites 
  • Beginners welcome without acute injuries* 
  • No prior yoga experience required.  
  • No prior paddling experience required. 
  • Experienced yoga students and paddlers also welcome! Build strength and endurance in each pose.
  • A few props will help you in the classes: two or three yoga blankets (or similar), a strap, a foam block (or full toilet paper roll), and a chair that you can move around and hold onto for balance, as necessary**
*Participants are welcome to schedule an In-Person or TeleMedicine Athletic Training Injury Evaluation with Matt or Kerry to get expert advice on how to move forward with any tender areas. Please click here to schedule. 

**Prime has a limited number of “Prop Kits” available for students in the class to rent for the duration of the series. Email or call Prime at (360) 922-3120 to reserve your props and arrange payment and pickup**
